Blackwork Frames….. you love them or you hate them!

Blackwork is what happens when embroidery trades spontaneity for structure—every stitch accounted for, every decision premeditated.

Black Work

Blackwork embroidery is often described as the “Marmite” of stitching, and I found that to be true. It requires a high level of precision and forward planning, with careful stitch placement to avoid retracing or disrupting the design. While I generally enjoyed the process, the restrictive nature and stark black-and-white contrast made it challenging to stay engaged. Although I would consider using it again, it is not a style I would naturally gravitate towards.
